Christmas

 Christmas was special this year. I was the best year so far with Graham because he actually understood everything. It was also special because it was Caroline's first Christmas. She was the greatest gift God gave us this year.

 

Graham could not wait to see what Santa brought!

Caroline is 3 months!!

I am very late getting this up but at least I'm getting it done before the new year!

Caroline Grace, you are 3 months old. I wish I could bottle you up and keep you this little because you are pure sweetness!

- At your appointment you weighed 11 lbs 12 oz and you're 23.5 inches long
- You have discovered your hands and they are always in your mouth (I really think you are teething)

 

- You are a mover!! I have started laying you down in your bed when you're sleepy and most of the time you fall asleep on your own. You never really cry...you just move around a lot before you go to sleep.

 

- Since you are quite the mover you have rolled over many times from stomach to back. Some nights I have to roll you back on your belly so you can sleep.
- You have started batting at toys and grabbing them.

 

- You still wake up once a night to eat.
- You still take about 4 naps a day.
- You are a very happy baby and you smile a lot. Melts this momma's heart. 
- you only cry when you're tired or hungry

Your Daddy, Graham and I love you so much! You have been a great gift to our family!!

Caroline is TWO months old!!!!

You are the SWEETEST baby!!! You are starting to "talk" to us and it just melts my heart!!!

 

We took you to the doctor yesterday you weigh 10lbs 12 oz. You were not very happy about  the 4 shots they gave you but big brother was there to hold your hand:) He loves to help out any way he can.

 

 

 

You are wearing 0-3 month clothes and wearing a size 1 diaper.

 

You take several naps a day and usually get up once a night to feed. Last night you slept for an 8 hour stretch.

 

 

 

You LOVE to smile!! You are a very happy baby unless you are hungry or tired.

 

Caroline Grace, we are crazy about you and we are so thankful the Lord blessed us with you!!!! You have made our family complete:)

 

And I had to compare you and big brother at two months....

 

I loved Graham so much before you were born (and now) and now my love has doubled! I love you both so very much!!!

 



Caroline is ONE month old!!

Yesterday, Caroline turned one month old!!!

She weighs 9lbs 8 oz. She eats about every 3 hrs and last night she slept for 8 hrs straight! She is a very happy and content baby unless she is hungry:) She smiles all the time!

We love her so much. She has brought so much joy to our family.

Caroline Grace Cheney

I have been meaning to blog about Caroline's birth but it just seems I have had zero time:) We are still learning and adjusting after becoming a family of four.

All I can say is that God is so good and gracious. Before I got pregnant,  Jeremy and I were advised not to have any more children. After a rough delivery with Graham I was admitted back to the hospital for high blood pressure, pulmonary edema and peripartum cardiomyopathy. The doctor at the time said it was all bc of fluid overload but I was still treated for heart failure for many months to follow. Tough time.  I was scared to death to even think about having more children. Didn't even want to talk with Jerermy about the possibility of becoming pregnant. Fear became my stronghold. I ended up seeing a new doctor a couple of years later and he strongly advised no future pregnancies. Really tough time! So for a while I just believed that becoming pregnant again was not in the cards for us again. However, I never had a peace about it. I scheduled a check-up with the cardiologist that treated me in the hospital and he stood by what he believed from the beginning...that we could have more children. I desperately wanted to have another baby..only if it was the Lord's will. Jeremy and I prayed and the Lord gave us a complete peace about it. I really had never heard the voice of God so clearly. We made a decision to trust the Lord and I'm so glad we did. We knew he would take care of me and the precious baby he had planned for us.

Every prayer that I prayed throughout the pregnancy was answered. I had the easiest delivery with her. I had a two day induction with G and with C things went much quicker. I prayed I would never swell and I didn't..not even in the hospital. I actually had a long list of prayers in my notes on my phone that I would pray for daily and literally every single prayer was answered. God is good!  I was admitted on a Sunday night and the plan was to induce early Monday morning ( Sept 17th). I was a little nervous about inducing again but the Lord continued to remind me that He was in control. Things moved so quickly that the nurses and the Dr. barely had time to prep. I was dilated to an 8 when I got my epidural and as soon as I could lay down after getting that I was a 10. They made me wait 20 minutes to push so my epidural would set in. Most painful 20 minutes of my life:) So I pushed 2 times and Caroline Grace made her entrance into the world at 8:14 that morning. She weighed 7 lbs 7oz and was 19.5 inches long. She was perfect.

In choosing her name, we knew we wanted to use Grace as her middle name. Not only is the name Grace on both sides of our families but it was by Gods grace we were having another baby. By God's grace, every prayer we prayed was answered. We are truly blessed!

39 weeks!

 

 

Well, to be honest I really didn't think I would ever make it this far. I just knew when I went to the doctor last week he would say "lets go have a baby!" Oh well, I know the Lord is in control and I'm content:) Well, as content as a 39 week pregnant woman can be. Ha!

 

 

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 39 Weeks! 1 more week to go...hey, maybe even longer:)

Size of baby: 20 inches long and weighs over 7 lbs

Total Weight Gain/Loss: N/A:)

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing all maternity clothes now

Gender: It's a GIRL!! Caroline Grace Cheney!!

Movement: She moves a ton at night!

Sleep: Sleeping ok

What I miss: wearing normal clothes

Cravings: salad, eggs and watermelon

Symptoms:leg cramps, braxton hicks, heartburn, and just a little sleepy:)



38 weeks!!

I'm 38 weeks!! 

 

 



Pregnancy Highlights:
 

How Far Along: 38 Weeks! 2 weeks or less left!!

Size of baby: almost 20 inches long and weighs almost 7 lbs

Gender: It's a GIRL!! Caroline Grace Cheney!!
 

Movement: She continues to move a lot at night and after I eat!
 

Sleep: Well with all the heartburn, I'm not sleeping very well. Oh well:)

What I miss: wearing normal clothes and not wobbling everywhere I go..

 

Cravings: salad and fruit juice
 

Symptoms: Leg cramps, lots of braxton hicks, heartburn and feeling very sluggish. All worth it!
 

If you look closely, you can see Graham behind my big belly. He is one excited big brother!!!!

37 weeks!

I am 37 weeks today!! I cannot believe it. This pregnancy has gone by so fast!!

 

 

I really feel that she could come any day now!!! Pray for us!!!

 





35 weeks!

Today I am 35 weeks and it's hot outside!!

Thankfully, I take my weekly picture before church every Sunday. The rest of the days I'm not very presentable:) Praying she comes in 3 weeks, but ultimately praying for the Lord's will. I have made my request known though:)



34 Weeks!!!



Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 34 Weeks! 6 more weeks to go...to say that I'm ready would be an understatement:)

Size of baby: over 18  inches long and weighs almost 5 lbs

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing all maternity clothes now...even those are getting tight now!

Gender: It's a GIRL!! Caroline Grace Cheney!!

Movement: She continues to move a lot at night! woohoo!!

Sleep: The Lord must be preparing me to wake up a lot at night b/c I'm not getting much sleep at all. All worth it though:)

What I miss: wearing normal clothes and not having heartburn from a glass of water

Cravings: everything

Symptoms: Leg cramps, lots of braxton hicks, heartburn and feeling very sluggish.

CANNOT believe that in 6 short weeks or less she will be here!!!

32 & 33 weeks!



Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 33 Weeks! 7 more weeks to go...if I make it all the way to 40 weeks!!

Size of baby: over 17  inches long and weighs over 4 lbs

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Don't worry I'm gaining enough:) 

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing all maternity clothes now

Gender: It's a GIRL!! Caroline Grace Cheney!!

Movement: She's moving mostly at night and after I eat. I also feel her hiccups all the time.

Sleep: I have good nights and bad nights

What I miss: wearing normal clothes

Cravings: cereal, peaches, and snickers:)

Symptoms: Leg cramps, lots of braxton hicks, heartburn and feeling very sluggish. I'm sure my husband would say that I'm slightly hormonal as well:)

30 & 31 weeks

I'm 31 weeks today!!!

How Far Along: 31 Weeks! 9 more weeks to go...if I make it all the way to 40 weeks!!

Size of baby: 16  inches long and weighs about 3.5 lbs

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I've made a decision. Nobody really needs to know this...except my Dr.:)

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing all maternity clothes now

Gender: It's a GIRL!! Caroline Grace Cheney!!

Movement: She's moving mostly at might and after I eat. I also feel her hiccups all the time.

Sleep: Sleeping ok...just feel uncomfortable at night

What I miss: wearing normal clothes

Cravings: I'm still craving cereal and fruit

Symptoms: Leg cramps, lots of braxton hicks, heartburn, and feeling very sluggish.

29 weeks!!

Size of baby: over 15 inches long and weighs 2 1/2  lbs.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 13 lbs..i think..we go to the doctor next week so we will soon find out

Movement: She's moving mostly at might and after I eat.

Sleep: Sleeping ok...just feel uncomfortable at night

What I miss:  wearing normal clothes

28 weeks!

I'm 28 weeks!!! That is crazy to me:)

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing all maternity clothes now. Just trying to stay cool in this heat!

Gender: It's a GIRL!! Caroline Grace Cheney!!

Movement: She moves all the time! I know she's getting big because I've started to feel her right under my ribs:)

Sleep: Sleeping ok...just feel uncomfortable at night

What I miss: sleep and wearing normal clothes

Cravings: fruit

Symptoms: Leg cramps, lots of braxton hicks, heartburn, and I'm sleepy.
