SSMT # 6

Well, it's that time again. Time to memorize my 6th scripture of the year. Here it is:

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

James 1:2-4 (NIV)

Today, I am thankful that the plans I might have for myself are not always the Lord's plans. I find complete joy and excitement in that. Though trials may come, I know the Lord has HUGE plans for my life and for my family. I believe the will of God is never exactly what you expect it to be. It may seem to be much worse, but I know and believe that in the end it's going to be a lot better and a lot bigger than I could EVER imagine. Even watching the news about the devastation in Japan at the end of the day God is still God and He is good. For those who are in Christ Jesus...our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the future glory that will be revealed in us. Praise God!!!!!

I've always prayed for the Lord to grow my testimony. Scary prayer to pray at times, but I sincerely meant every word of it. Praying this, I knew this couldn't happen without the testing of my faith. But if that's what it takes for my relationship with Christ to grow...so be it:)

SSMT # 5

Time for Siesta Scripture # 5:

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)

I read this verse and I immediately asked myself, "What are the things in my life that are a hindrance to my relationship with Christ?" It's my prayer I recognize those thing even if their not all together bad. It's so easy to get caught up in the world and I do not want anything to hinder my relationship with Christ. It's my desire to be free in Christ and fix my eyes on Him daily.

Lord, help me to run from ALL hindrances straight to YOU!!!
