Oh how time flies......

My oh my, how time flies....my baby is 18 month old today. Even though he's my baby..he's not so much a baby anymore :(

One year ago.........
and today......

At 18 months Graham weighs 24 lbs 11 oz and is 32 1/4 inches long. He's wearing 18-24 month clothes and a size 4 diaper.

He sleeps about 12 hours a night and only wakes up if he's teething. He has 10 teeth now :) I never thought he would have teeth...nor hair. However, his hair is finally coming in and it's blonde and curly :) I just love it!

We had is check-up today and they said he should be saying about 7-20 words. I was counting today and I just stopped at 40. He really does talk a lot and will repeat most of everything you say. He loves books...we probably read 20 or more a day. He can point to all the pictures and he can also point to all his body parts.

He knows the color blue, numbers 1-3 and already knows the letters O, Y, and A. Why those...I have know idea. I just try to talk about the colors, letters, and numbers a lot and I guess he just picked up on it. I love seeing him learn :) Just the teacher in me I guess.

His most favorite things to do are play outside and take a bath. He's learning to brush his teeth and feed himself with a spoon. It seems he learns something new everyday.

Graham is so smart, sweet and has the funniest personality. However, during the past few months we have really started to discipline him a lot more. About a month ago we started time-out. He has really gotten better about not touching things he shouldn't. He also knows the word "spank" ....so if I use that word or put it into action.....he knows I mean business. :)

First time in time-out......

So tonight he stepped on one on his toys and hurt his foot. So he picked it up and threw it in time-out. He kept telling it "NO, NO!!" ....

It really was funny to see :)

I love you so much Jonathan Graham!!! I love staying home with you. Though hard at times, it's the BEST job in the world!! I will always treasure the time we've had together! I love you with all my heart!! Happy 18 months!!!!!

We're back

We had such a great time on vacation. We were sad to leave but glad to be home. Graham enjoyed the water and just wore himself out each day. He also wore me out :) He really is on the go ALL the time! Not sure if it's because he's a boy or his age ...??? Probably both:) Anyways, he had lots of fun and we made lots of sweet memories :)

Every evening after dinner we would ask Graham if he wanted to go swimming and this was his response..........

He was full of excitement :)

I'm already missing the beautiful water .....

Mom's Day Out

Graham has been going to MDO since January. It was a rough transition at first but he got through it. He loves it now and has attached himself to the sweetest lady there. He and Ms. Pat love each other very much. She told me today that Graham has every person at MDO wrapped around his finger, especially her :) He doesn't want Ms. Pat taking care of anyone but him. He doesn't even want her getting up from her rocking chair so that he could go to her anytime he needed. Spoiled??? Anyways, they started teaching his class a few new things this summer. One being....sleeping on a nap mat. I laughed and thought to myself "good luck." For the past couple of weeks when I pick him up I walk in and all the little toddlers are asleep on their mats and where is Graham...you guessed it - rocking with Ms. Pat. When I got there today everyone couldn't wait to show me what Graham was doing.......

sleeping on his mat!!! I could not believe my eyes! We have reached another milestone..HA!

Yummy Recipe

Have I mentioned that I love to cook. Well....I do. My mother-in-law and I are always trying to come up with something yummy to make. We're already getting our poolside menu together for the summer :)

Well, tonight I made one of Jeremy's favorite dinners. It's soooo easy and very tasty. He has been working so hard lately I wanted him to come home and relax and eat something yummy. So here's what I made for my man.....

Beef Ravioli in Basil Cream Sauce

1 (24 oz pkg) frozen beef ravioli
2 tbsp butter1
1 (8 oz pkg) sliced fresh mushrooms
3 green onions, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
1 (10 oz can) diced mild tomatoes with green chilies, drained
2 tbsp. chopped fresh basil
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
Prepare ravioli by boiling in a large pot of salted water according to directions. Drain and keep warm.
Melt butter in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and next 3 ingredients. Sauté for 6 minutes or until mushrooms are tender. Stir in tomatoes with chilies, basil and cream; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Stir in Parmesan cheese. Add salt. Stir in cooked ravioli, toss to coat.
Quick and easy and yummy. Serve with garlic toast and salad.

Enjoy :)

15 months

Today was Graham's 15 month check-up. It went really well..other than the two shots at the end of the appointment :( We went and got a treat afterwards..I thought he deserved it :) He weighs 23 lbs and is getting so big!

He has such a funny personality. He loves to tickle people and LOVES to read books. I can already tell him the title of a book and he goes to get it. His favorite book is Goodnight Moon:) He's on the go all the time and I can't ever take my eyes off of him because he's always finding something to get into. He loves to play in the water and really enjoys being outside.

He has a busy summer ahead of him. Lots of swimming to look forward to, MDO twice a week, and a music class on Wednesdays :) Fun, fun!!!

Snicker Salad! YUM!

Last night was Bible study. My mother-in law and I were in charge of bringing desserts. You have to go to her blog to get her recipe for Berries and Bits. Simply divine :) Anyways, I made snicker salad and it's absolutely the best salad I make ;) The picture isn't all that great but I promise it's good.

5 green apples, cut in small pieces

5 snicker bars, cut in small pieces

1 tub cool whip

1 package cream cheese, softened

Blend cool whip and cream cheese until smooth. Mix in apples and snickers. Cool in refrigerator for a while and ENJOY :)
